Save on air conditioning costs
Black roofing attracts and retains heat. These heat islands cause an increase in air conditioning costs in the summer as well as a faster deterioration of the materials. For example, the excessive heat accumulated in the membrane could cause it to curl or crack during rapid and severe cooling.
For this reason, manufacturers now offer different light colors, including white membranes. The particles will reduce heat by reflecting it rather than absorbing it.
A white membrane for all roofs
The white membrane is not suitable for all roofs, as it can be seen in whole or part on low slope roofs. These roofs are particularly vulnerable to water infiltration when simple shingles are used, which is why the elastomeric membrane is a sensible choice. For this reason, it is important to be able to match it with the house’s siding.

The membranes arrive in rolls and are fused together with a blowtorch. In this way, they are entirely waterproof and impermeable. Their elasticity and flexibility allow them to withstand temperature variations without cracking or splitting. In addition, its exceptional ability to adhere to various materials and bridges and its great strength at the joints allow for greater water tightness.
Less weight on structures
The elastomeric membrane is twice as light as gravel and asphalt. Versatile, it can be installed on both steel and wood decks.
Installation at any time
There’s no need to wait for good weather to repair your roof. Whether it’s winter or hot summer, you can install an elastomeric membrane without any worries. A recent cold installation technique allows you to avoid the use of a flashlight but also to limit the inconvenience for your tenants by allowing an almost incognito repair.
Choice of colors
You can choose the color of your membrane. By choosing a very light membrane, you will reduce heat islands. It’s good for the environment and your air conditioning bill!
The best of both worlds
As in the example below, it is possible to install a white membrane on the invisible part of the roof and shingles on the visible region when the top is uneven in certain areas.
